Frequently Asked Questions (or, questions you wanted to know, but were afraid to ask)
Do you have a studio?
Yes and no. We shoot most of our sessions on location. Our photographic style is much more relaxed and we have noticed that the families and individuals we have created portraits for prefer to be where they are the most comfortable. That location is usually not in a studio setting. We have a small studio set-up and use it on occasion by request or when we want or need a uniform (neutral) background. Our studio is also portable so it can be –and has been- taken on location for sessions.
What can I expect at my session?
Once you have booked your session we will talk by phone or in person and discuss what to wear, where to meet, your expectations, etc.
During your session the one thing you should not feel is RUSHED. We typically only schedule one appointment per day so we aren’t running off to meet the next client. When children are involved, we make sure to take breaks so that they don’t get too bored or frustrated.
Once we have created your unique portraits, we will send you an email containing your gallery ID and password. All you have to do is follow the instructions contained in the email. The gallery of images will be made available to you for 2 weeks (14 days). You are free to share your gallery information with friends and family. Who doesn’t like to look at beautiful portraits, after all? We will also be happy to show your portraits in person.
After you’ve had a chance to view your photos, we will set up a purchasing session to help you decide the best way to display your images. We can answer all of your questions about portrait size, framing and matting, storyboards, and more.
How do I make an appointment for portraits?
The fastest, easiest way is to give us a call. We book limited appointments but we are available on weekends. Session fees must be paid in advance in order for you to secure your appointment time. Fall is a particularly busy season and the sooner you can reserve your session, the better.
Do you accept Visa/MasterCard?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Checks, even PayPal for your convenience. You can pay for your portraits this way, whether ordering at a personal consultation, or in the privacy of your own home (even in your comfy PJ’s).
Do you do your own printing?
No, we leave that to the finest professional labs. Every order is sent to a professional lab to be printed and finished on the best professional paper available. We want to ensure your portraits are beautiful for decades to come! If there is ever a question about the quality of your printed piece, we will promptly have it re-printed.
Do you have a minimum purchase requirement?
No. We want you to be thrilled, excited and ecstatic about your portraits. We don’t want you to purchase anything begrudgingly because no matter how fantastic the images are, if you feel like you have to purchase them, it takes some of the thrill of your portraits away. We offer portrait packages and a la carte pricing. We are all about serving our clients, so a package can be customized for your needs as well.
How long will it take to receive our portraits?
All orders are processed once payment has been received. Portrait orders are generally delivered in about 4 weeks after your order is received. Specialty products such as greeting cards, storyboards, purses, jewelry, gallery canvas wraps, and albums can take 4-8 weeks for delivery. If you are in need something sooner, we will do our utmost to get it for you.
Why can’t I have pictures for my Facebook/MySpace, phone, etc?
Actually, you can. We offer web-resolution copies of purchased images to our clients for social networking, emailing, screen savers, etc. on request. After your session, you may see a sneak peak of a few images on our blog before all of your images are completed and in an online gallery. These images, like all of our photography work are protected by copyright. It is illegal to copy, and use or otherwise display these images without our permission.
